Welcome to Verwood’s independent optical practice. These pages are designed to keep you up to date with information about us, the services we offer, and the products that we stock and supply. It also serves as an introduction to us for those who are new to the area, or might be looking for a new optician. You will find information about the latest developments in lens technology, frame fashion and advances in contact lenses. There is also a section devoted to the common questions regarding some of the diseases and conditions that can affect vision and the eyes. Please tell us if there is anything you would like to see on these pages, or a topic you would like to see added to our Frequently Asked Questions' page. Please remember, we can't answer personal or specific visual questions - that would need a comprehensive eye examination and even with today's technology that can't be carried out over the internet!

Although the past year has been highly unusual, we are very much aware that you, our patients, rely on us for your ongoing eyecare and we would like to reassure you that we are here and ready to take care of you and your vision as we have throughout the pandemic. The NHS and our professional bodies have made it clear that patients should have safe access to the full range of optical services we provide. We are therefore continuing to take routine appointment bookings in addition to emergency and urgent eye care. Of course we are following Covid protection protocols that have been in place for many months. All our staff are fully vaccinated and we continue to undertake twice weekly Covid-19 tests. To read more about some of the changes that have been made, please click here to read our ‘Welcome Back’ leaflet. We are here every day offering appointments for sight tests, spectacles, contact lenses and adjustments, and we are available by phone (01202 825448) or email (reception@peacockandmurphy.co.uk) if you’d like to arrange for products to be posted to you in order to avoid an unnecessary visit. These are still worrying times for us all, but I we can assure you that we will continue working hard to ensure we can provide the best care and service that’s possible within the rules that we must follow. Please take care and stay safe. For further advice from NHS England click here.
